BYOD

WHS Wireless Access

All students may apply for Wireless access as long as they are using a laptop or tablet computing device. Personal iPads and cell phones will not be allowed in the BYOD program.

Please follow the directions below to apply for access - please enter information carefully as errors can delay the process and your access.

1) Login to your ISD284 Google account - Fill out the on-line application form located at http://tinyurl.com/jkls9vb

***The form asks you to enter the MAC address of your computers wireless card.

            (Note that MAC stands for Media Access Control. Even if your computer is not a Mac, you will have a mac address.)

The Directions to find the MAC address of your computer are located below. Make sure to find the directions for your operating system.

Please enter the number in the form with colons not hyphens an example: 23:ab:23:ab:23:ab

2) Receive email confirmation that your account has been created.

4) Connecting to the network - The name of the network is 284StudentBYOD

This network is broadcast throughout the building so your device should be able to connect once in the system.

**If after 3 days you cannot connect - please bring your device to the media center before or after school and ask one of the adults to help you get connected.**

 

Mac Address - Windows 10

How to find the MAC address on a computer with Windows 10

First, Right click the start button and click "Command Prompt"

Once Command Prompt is open, type "ipconfig /all" and press enter

You should see a screen like this


You are looking for the section titled "Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi:"

When you have located that section, you are looking for the Physical Address of your computer


That will be the MAC address.

Mac Address - Windows 8

How to find the MAC address on a computer with Windows 8

First, press the windows key and go to the search bar. Search 'cmd' and press enter.

 

Once Command Prompt is open, type "ipconfig /all" and press enter.

You should see a screen like this

 

You are looking for the section titled "Ethernet adapter Ethernet"

When you have located that section, you are looking for the Physical Address.

That will be the MAC address.

Mac Address - Apple OSX

First, Click the Wifi indicator and choose the option "Open Network Preferences..."

Next, You should see a screen like this:

You will want to click on the button titled "Advanced..."

You are looking for the "Wi-Fi Address."

That will be your mac address
